I Can't Log In!
There are a few reasons why you might not be able to login to SSP. Start with the easiest one to fix first... 1) I assume you are a member and have a valid username and password to SportsScholarshipPro. If you're not sure, then please let us know and we will double-check for you. Or you can look in your email for our receipt showing the last time you paid for membership or renewal. IF you do not remember your password you can use the "forgot password" function on the membership login page, it will be emailed to you providing your email is updated in your system 2) Your computer's clock and/or calendar may have been reset by some software you have installed recently. Check for the wrong date or time. It usually shows up in the bottom right corner of your screen. Double-click on the time and it will bring up a calendar and clock that you can reset to the correct date and time. We use a time-stamped cookie that removes itself after you leave our site for 20 minutes or more. If your calendar is wrong then it always thinks you've been gone for more than 20 minutes and it removes itself from your cookies. If the clock or calendar were wrong and you have fixed them, then try logging in again. 3) Perhaps you are confused between membership and our free weekly tip subscription. 4) Your cookies may be set to "ON" but the storage area for cookies may be FULL. Our site automatically deletes the cookies it puts on your computer but most sites don't do that and your cookies storage area can reach a maximum level. To empty the cookies, open Internet Explorer (assuming you use IE) and click on TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS and on the "General" tab click on the DELETE button next to "Browsing History". You will then be given a choice of what to delete. Choose "Delete Files" and "Delete Cookies" to remove the junk your system has been saving. Close Internet Explorer, reboot your computer and try logging in again. 5A) If those two fixes don't work, then there are a couple more things that can block cookies from being stored. One is the settings in your web browser and the other thing is your "Internet Security Suite" of programs. Starting with your web browers (Internet Explorer) you can make sure that cookies are allowed. Go to TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS / PRIVACY TAB / SITES button and type sportsscholarshippro.com into the empty box, then click the "ALLOW" button to add our site to the sites you always want to allow cookies from. Click OK / OK then close all instances of Internet Explorer and then restart the program and try logging in again. 5B) The other thing that can block cookies on your computer is the "Internet Security Suite". Companies like Symantec (AKA: "Norton") and McAfee sell antivirus programs. Unfortunately, they often bundle those antivirus programs along with anti-spyware, anti-phishing, anti-everything-under-the-sun programs and sell them as a complete solution to everything that can happen to your computer. The unfortunate part is that they make these programs take over everything in your computer and overwrite the settings that you've selected in many areas, including the cookies settings. If you are using a program that calls itself an "internet security suite" instead of an anti-virus program alone, then the settings that are blocking your computer's acceptance of cookies are buried inside that software program. The quickest way to check for this is to shut down that suite for a few minutes and then try logging into our site. Once you try logging in again you can then re-start the program. DO NOT go surfing around the internet with the program turned off! You will want to re-start the program, run the control panel for the software and set it to allow cookies from sportsscholarshippro. Don't just leave the program turned off. A second choice would be to remove that software from your computer and install an anti-virus program that does NOT include all the other bells and whistles. 6) The next point where cookies can be blocked is by your internet connection. Some ISP's control which sites you can log into in order to protect their customers from riff-raff websites. If your ISP is blocking access to sportsscholarshippro then you'll want to call them and let them know that they're way off base here and that they need to allow you access to our site or you'll find another ISP to sell you internet access. 7) The final place that could be causing your connection problem is IF you are trying to access our site while at work. Many IT deparments at larger companies will block access to fun websites for people that are supposed to be working. While I understand you may be on break or lunch when accessing our site from work, the management of your company might not want you doing that with their computer. If that's the case, then please restrict your access to our site to your home computer. If none of the above resolve the problem, you might want to try accessing our site from another computer. If you have another one in your home or school, and can try from the other computer, you may find that access works just fine from one computer and not from the other one. That should tell you that the problem is still somewhere in the settings on your computer that can't access our site. If that's the case, try removing the "internet protection suite" from the blocked computer completely and replacing it with other antivirus software. If neither computer will work from your home, then it's likely to be a problem with your ISP blocking your access to certain websites. You can try changing service providers to get access to the internet the way you want it.
